Downloading Data from DataGOL
Data Download options:
| Option | Where to find it | Works on | How you get it |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 Export raw data | Right-click widget → Show Raw/Full Data | Regular & External | Email link |
| 2 Show as Table download | Right-click widget → Show as Table → ↓ | All dashboards | Instant CSV or email link |
| 3 Table widget download | ↓ icon at bottom-left of any Table widget | All dashboards | Instant CSV or email link |
| 4 Embedded page-level export | Page-level export icon (top of page) | Embedded only | Email link |
Option 1 — Export Raw Data
Widget-level · Regular & External dashboards · Full underlying dataset
Raw data is the complete, unaggregated dataset behind a widget — every row the chart was built from, with all current filters applied. Delivered by email because datasets can be very large.
1. Right-click any widget
Hover over the chart and right-click (or click the ⋯ menu). A context menu appears with Filters, Data, and Alerts sections.
2. Click "Show Raw/Full Data"
Opens a table view of the raw records. Filters active on the dashboard or widget carry over automatically.
3. Click the download icon and confirm the export
A modal confirms your active filters and starts a background export. You don't need to keep the tab open.
4. Check your email : twice
You'll get an immediate confirmation email when the export starts, then a secure download link once ready. Links expire in 7 days.
Filters in the export modal are read-only. To change the export scope, close the modal, update your dashboard or widget filters, then reopen the export.
Option 2 — Show as Table
Widget-level · All dashboard types · Aggregated data in table form
"Show as Table" renders the widget data as a structured table — the aggregated values the chart is built on, not every raw record underneath.
1. Right-click and choose "Show as Table" or "Show Point Data"
Both open a table panel beneath the widget. Current filters apply automatically. Row count shows in the top-left corner.
2. Click the ↓ download icon (bottom-left)
Opens the same download modal as the Table widget : instant CSV file download
Option 3 — Table Widget Download
All dashboard types · Two download modes: instant or full
Table-type widgets (and drill-down views that produce a table) have a dedicated ↓ download icon in the bottom-left corner. Clicking it gives you two options.
1. Find the ↓ icon at the bottom-left of the table
The total filtered row count shows at the top-left. The download icon is always visible at the bottom-left.
2. Choose your download mode
A modal shows two options — pick the one that fits:
⚡ Download loaded rows (CSV) Downloads immediately. Up to 1,000 rows per page, max 10,000 rows total. No email needed.
📧 Export full dataset (email) Exports all rows — no limit. Processed server-side and emailed. Row count shown before you confirm.
🔗 Embedded Dashboards
Mostly the same as regular dashboards — with one key difference for raw data
When accessing DataGOL embedded inside another application, the experience is nearly identical — with one key difference: raw data exports work from a page-level icon rather than from individual widgets.
1. Click the page-level export icon
Look for the export icon at the top of the embedded dashboard page. This opens the Request Data Export modal.
2. Fill in the three required fields
Unlike widget-level exports that auto-carry filters, this modal requires you to define scope manually:
→ Which dataset? Choose from the searchable dropdown → Where should we send it? Enter your email address → Which rows do you need? Add at least one filter, including a mandatory date range
3. Request the export
Click Request export — confirmation email arrives immediately, download link follows once ready. Links expire after 7 days.
Date filter is mandatory for embedded exports. If the dataset contains a date column, a date range must be added before the export will run. Quick presets (Last 7 Days, This Month, etc.) are available.
Show as Table & Table widget — same as regular dashboards
Show as Table and Table widget downloads work identically on embedded dashboards. The only addition: the full dataset export also asks for your email address directly in the modal.
Limits & Good to Know
Row limits, expiry, and a few things worth keeping in mind
| Topic | Detail |
|---|---|
| Instant CSV row limit on table widget | Up to 10,000 rows (loads 1,000 at a time as you scroll). Only rows already loaded on screen are included. |
| Download link expiry | Secure links expire after 7 days. Re-run the export if your link has expired. |
| Timestamps in exports | Raw data exports use UTC. Table widget downloads respect your configured dashboard timezone. |
| Changing filters before export | Filters in the export modal are read-only. Close the modal, adjust your dashboard filters, then restart the export. |
